I was probably kidding myself, but I thought that i would apply for the Tattered Angels DT call. I am so excited to say that my scrappy girlfriend Louise Nelson got a spot (in fact the only Aussie on the DT)..YAY LOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway here are my layouts that I sent in.

On this layout I used a WOW flourish as a mask

cute as piecute as pie (a)

Here is another layout with misting on some of that Mistable range, and a WOW scallop frame

beautybeauty (b)

And for the final one, I used a doily that i had previously used as a mask for several layouts, so it was nicely layered with different coloured mist. And a WOW chipboard gate

wonderwonder(b)wonder (a)

So even though I didn’t make the team, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the results of the misting effort!

Some recent Creativeness

Having amazing DT kits from Anna’s Craft Cupboard really enables me to get my creative MOJO flowing. I love all the things she sends, and cannot wait month by month to undo that pizza box when it arrives.

this month I have had the chance to play with some of the NEW Echo Park ‘Times and Seasons’.

Check out these gorgeous girls..surely you recognise those faces!

I misted the background with a mixture of Mr Huey’s Cameo, and glimmermist Tomato Cherise, and I also altered the flowers to match

And for this layout I have used Mr Huey’s Heirloomeverything to meIMG_0498

Can you tell I love misting atm, and using doilies as a mask..LOL!

I have totally re-used an idea here that I saw on Karen Williams blog. She got her Daughter to do some writing and drawing on a piece of cardstock and did a layout based around that. LOVE IT!

I just HAD to get my boys to do the same.

Here is Angus’ version. He is only just starting to write his name legible, and that is the only word he knows how to write.

I have used a piece of WOW chipboard here, and used several layered of different green Mr Heuy’s and Glimmermist

This I Charlie’s version. He has been writing his name for a while now, and can write loads of word…but he is definately not the best drawer.

I have used several pieces of A Lil’ Somethin’ and a WOW chipboard flourish!

So don’t you think it is the just most fabulous idea…Maybe you could get your kidlets to do a background Cardstock for your creation! It wouldnt matter if they cant write, how cute would a 2yr old scribble be!

Xmas Ranges Everywhere!

Do you get the feeling that it is getting close to Xmas?? Everywhere i look there are new paper ranges and accessories being advertised on every site, and facebook.

In my DT kit this month from Anna’s Craft Cupboard I received the NEW Echo Park paper range and sticker elements from the HOLLY JOLLY range!..cute

I have done 2 layouts and a set of cards

For this layouts I used circles as a mask, and spritz and splattered Mr Huey’s all over the background cardstock

For this layout, I used a negative from the heart punch as a mask and randomly inked hearts on the cardstock, then sewed a row of hearts to continue the theme

I never claim to be a card maker, but when you get given Xmas paper it is the perfect opportunity to practice making a few to give to the rellies!

Do you make Xmas cards?

Do you scrap Xmas photos?

If not, why not???? get busy and happy creating people!

Christmas is coming…

…and what do you get your child’s teacher year in year out??

If you are anything like me, you have done the choccies to death, done the mugs and the stationary, gift vouchers and wine. Hmmmmm..they can be tricky those teachers, but you want to show your appreciation for all their hard work they have put in to your little devils all year!

This year, I came across these Cork message boards on Clearence and thought that they would look great altered and individualised for Teacher’s presents for Christmas. I decided to use some of the large WOW chipboard pieces that I have been sent in my DT kit, as i often struggle to use BIG chippies on layouts. I have altered the chippies with felt pens and Glimmermists.

I have made 3 Message Cord Boards so far….!

This 1st one is for my son Charlie’s Prep Teacher Miss Millen. I have used some fun colour combinations to reflect her personality, and I have used feminine accessories.

I decorated one of the ornate trees with mists and white pen, and also used the decorative Owl as a stand out piece on the project.

For the Second Cork Board, for my Son Angus’ Kindergarten teacher Mrs Lade, I have gone with a more traditional colours and school theme.

I have painted the letters and numbers from the boarder piece with paints, and outlines with a Sharpie pen and black versa ink.

For the 3rd Cork board, for my friend’s daughter’s teacher Mr V, I have one with a fun and cheeky look.

I have used the little aliens and a large ornate tree on this one. Colouring with glimmermists and a black Sharpie pen. Altering the tree with buttons to represent apples, and I have put pearls on the aliens eyes!

So if you are looking for a fun and creative present to give your child’s teacher, why not consider something like this. You could also alter diaries and notebooks, stationary sets and pencil cases, or get a nice picture of your child and alter a frame with some WOW chipboard pieces…the options are endless!

Happy Creating

Cheers Wendy x x x
